The Blues/R&B band Philadelphia Brothers Reunion will be replacing Crazy Man Crazy at the August 7th ALL AGES show at the Rotunda.
I would like to thank the Brothers for stepping into the gap while I go up to New Hampshire to spend some time with my mother, who is in the hospital again due to cancer.
Thanks also to Crazy Man Crazy guitarist Julian Root for taking over the responsibility of finding another band and running the show. I have some awesome friends, no doubt.
Details on the show are below. See y’all when I get back…
Crazy Man Crazy will once again be joined by bluesman Shakey Lyman for an all ages bill at the Rotunda in Philadelphia on Saturday, August 7th, 2010. Rounding out the evening will be solo artist and friend of the band Rasan Allbritton, who y’all might recall from his amazing performance at the Five Minute Follies this past May.
And we can’t say for sure yet, but Crazy Man Crazy might have a little surprise for you. Stay tuned… and meanwhile, check out the full show details below.
Heavy rock band Big Terrible will be joining Crazy Man Crazy and The Danger O’s on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010, at the Khyber, 56 S. Second Street in Philadelphia, PA.
WXPN Program Director Bruce Warren said of Big Terrible: “This stuff is good. These guys remind me of a cross between Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, and The Black Crowes. They have their own thing though.”
We’re lookin’ forward to sharing the stage with Big Terrible and the Danger O’s on July 3rd. Full details are below.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to see Crazy Man Crazy in March at the North Star Bar in Philadelphia. Our draw on a weekday night was strong enough to score us a Saturday night gig at the North Star. Come on out and celebrate with us…
Check out Crazy Man Crazy lead singer Michael Subvert in the new Free Energy “Bang Pop” music video. He appears about halfway through as the School Photographer, assaulted and stripped by the Bad Girls. Thanks to Free Energy, and thanks to a fantastic cast and crew, for a fun shoot and a great weekend.
I would like to thank everyone who came out to see the very first Five Minute Follies, hosted by Crazy Man Crazy, this past Saturday, May 1st, 2010, at the Rotunda in Philadelphia, PA. The house was packed and y’all were so enthusiastic and responsive. Thanks for your applause, your cheers, for singing along with Peter Redmond, for clapping along with Belly Dancer Fatima Bassmah.
A big time thanks to my talented and tireless co-producer/stage manager, Crystal Why. You were there when I needed you — and more often than not, before I needed you.
The same could be said of the boys in my band, Crazy Man Crazy. Mark Alexander, Brandon Porter and Julian Root are three of the nicest and most talented guys I have ever worked with. Not to get sappy on y’all, but it’s great to have such good friends and artistic collaborators. You don’t often find both in the same place. I am very fortunate.
Finally, let me express my immense gratitude to Jason Neugent, Frank Bellina and Gina Renzi of the Rotunda. We threw you one curve after another and you handled it all beautifully.
And now we must set our sights on the next Five Minute Follies. Once again, the call goes out for acts. Spread the word. Philly has an old school variety show again.
The debut of the Five Minute Follies (hosted by Crazy Man Crazy) is approaching fast. Come on out this Saturday, May 1st, to the Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA, to see a show unlike any other. In the true spirit of variety, we’ve got a little bit of everything, and something for everyone. Check out all the details below. See ya there!
