We’re revamping our sound and going for a marriage of punk rock and vintage rock n’ roll. If you play guitar and you want to join the band, check out the details below and drop us a line:
Punk Rock N’ Roll Guitarist Wanted (Philadelphia PA)
Seeking guitar for a punk rock band firmly rooted in 50s-era blues and rock and roll. Think Cramps. Ramones, Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers… but we wanna make something of our own, not just an imitation.
Pumped up covers of old blues and vintage rock n’ roll (Big Joe Turner, Trashmen, The Robins, Buddy Holly, Nat Adderley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Willie Dixon, etc.) and originals with the same tone.
We plan to rehearse weekly in the Philadelphia area. Long term we want to record an album and tour.
Crazy Man Crazy needs a new guitar player (Philadelphia, PA)
Crazy Man Crazy guitarist Julian Root will be embarking upon a country-wide musical odyssey very shortly, and so has bowed out of the band. We’ll miss him, cuz he’s a good friend and a talented guy!
We’re seeking a new guitar player (either permanent or a fill-in for the Johnny Cash Tribute coming up in Philly on Sat, October 30th), to play 50s-style rock n’ roll, blues, country n’ swing originals and covers.
We rehearse Thursday nights in Upper Darby, just 15 minutes west of Philly.
The Blues/R&B band Philadelphia Brothers Reunion will be replacing Crazy Man Crazy at the August 7th ALL AGES show at the Rotunda.
I would like to thank the Brothers for stepping into the gap while I go up to New Hampshire to spend some time with my mother, who is in the hospital again due to cancer.
Thanks also to Crazy Man Crazy guitarist Julian Root for taking over the responsibility of finding another band and running the show. I have some awesome friends, no doubt.
Details on the show are below. See y’all when I get back…
Crazy Man Crazy will once again be joined by bluesman Shakey Lyman for an all ages bill at the Rotunda in Philadelphia on Saturday, August 7th, 2010. Rounding out the evening will be solo artist and friend of the band Rasan Allbritton, who y’all might recall from his amazing performance at the Five Minute Follies this past May.
And we can’t say for sure yet, but Crazy Man Crazy might have a little surprise for you. Stay tuned… and meanwhile, check out the full show details below.
Heavy rock band Big Terrible will be joining Crazy Man Crazy and The Danger O’s on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010, at the Khyber, 56 S. Second Street in Philadelphia, PA.
WXPN Program Director Bruce Warren said of Big Terrible: “This stuff is good. These guys remind me of a cross between Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, and The Black Crowes. They have their own thing though.”
We’re lookin’ forward to sharing the stage with Big Terrible and the Danger O’s on July 3rd. Full details are below.
Crazy Man Crazy will be sharing the stage with The Danger O’s on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010 at the Khyber, 56 S. Second Street in Philadelphia. Come on out and rock with us! Full details are below.
Thanks again to everyone who came out to see Crazy Man Crazy in March at the North Star Bar in Philadelphia. Our draw on a weekday night was strong enough to score us a Saturday night gig at the North Star. Come on out and celebrate with us…
Check out Crazy Man Crazy lead singer Michael Subvert in the new Free Energy “Bang Pop” music video. He appears about halfway through as the School Photographer, assaulted and stripped by the Bad Girls. Thanks to Free Energy, and thanks to a fantastic cast and crew, for a fun shoot and a great weekend.
